A D Robotics would like to congratulate Paul Taylor MIMechE CEng on achieving Chartership status with the Engineering Council. Paul has been part of the IMechE Professional Development Program that is driven by the need to promote and assist engineers in the wider engineering community to acquire their Chartered Engineering (CEng) status.
A D Robotics acknowledges this significant milestone in Pauls professional career and recognises the contribution that is made to our business, clients and the wider community.
"I have always strived to become a Chartered Engineer which is one of the best ways to be recognised as a complete professional in the robotics industry. Chartered Engineers develop appropriate solutions to engineering problems. They may develop and apply new technologies, promote advanced designs and design methods and introduce new and more efficient production techniques, or pioneer new engineering services and management methods. The title CEng is protected by civil law and is one of the most recognisable international engineering qualifications."
Becoming chartered allows me to take a more active role in design and management work with clients, particularly on certain projects where only Chartered Engineers are able to sign-off documents. A chartered engineer is someone that understands and appreciates the finer details associated with projects and infrastructure delivery and is someone distinguished amongst the crowd.
The process of becoming chartered ensures that you become a more proficient engineer not just technically specific. This provides you with the tools and techniques to appreciate other contributing factors when delivering large infrastructure projects." said Mr Paul Taylor MIMechE CEng.
According to the Engineering Council, Chartered Engineers "are characterised by their ability to develop appropriate solutions to engineering problems, using new or existing technologies, through innovation, creativity and change. Chartered Engineers are variously engaged in technical and commercial leadership and possess interpersonal skills."
"I pursued Chartership for a number of reasons. From a personal perspective, I pursued Chartered as it gives recognition to the skills and experience that I have gained over the course of my career. Furthermore, chartered is also a recognised sign within the automation sector that one is competent to practice and excel in ones chosen field."
With the rise in the need for registration and with increased international mobility within the engineering profession Chartership is also rapidly becoming an essential requirement for mid and senior level engineers." said Paul Taylor MIMechE CEng.
